SHARE Board Member Deanna Simon started the event’s proceedings by welcoming all attendees and extending a special thank you to the following dignitaries in attendance for their support: Honorable Victor Alfieri, Judge, Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, NY, Honorable William Warren, Judge, Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, NY, District Governor Carole Tjoa (2006-2007) of Rotary District 7210, and Former District Governor John Gowrie of the West Nyack Lions.

Larry Laraia presenting cheeses
Larry Laraia of Laraia’s Cheese Co. kicked off the cheese tasting event with the presentation of a variety of cheeses from France, Italy, and other countries. After every round of introduction of a particular cheese, guests were invited to savour servings of that cheese with suitable wine pairings.
Mr. Laraia shared his vast knowledge of cheeses with the audience. His presentations ended with an exciting demonstration of making fresh mozzarella right in Dr. MacGuffie’s kitchen.
The evening concluded with a raffle of several large gift baskets of flowers, plants, beauty products, and other special items.
