SHARE names Usha Wright President and Chairman of the Board
Outgoing Founder cites Wright’s experience and program success

WASHINGTONVILLE, NY – The Society for Resources and Hospital Exchange (SHARE) is pleased to announce that Usha Wright, Esq. has been named President and Chairman of the Board. This role change is effective as of January 2010, and Ms. Wright will succeed Dr. Martha M. MacGuffie who will assume the role of Founder and President Emeritus.

“Under Usha’s leadership, orphan sponsorships have increased dramatically and the administration of the Program has improved considerably,” said Dr. MacGuffie. “She has fostered strong alliances on the ground, creating better and faster communication processes with the social workers, and increasing SHARE’s impact in Kenya. With her senior level corporate experiences, her background in law, public health, and environmental protection, her passion and her commitment to SHARE, Usha is ideally suited to build on SHARE’s impressive record.”

Dr. MacGuffie also noted that Usha has been working with SHARE for more than eight years and has taken the orphan sponsorship program to the new heights.

Usha Wright currently serves as an Executive Vice President at the environmental engineering firm of O’Brien & Gere. Previously she was at ITT Corporation, where she held various positions including Senior Vice President and Director of Global Workforce Strategy, Vice President, Environment Safety and Health, and Associate General Counsel.

Prior to joining ITT in 1993, Usha was the Executive Director of Health, Safety and Environment at Ciba Geigy. Usha is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, where she was an editor of Rutgers Law Review and has a Masters Degree from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the School of Public Health of the University of North Carolina. She also serves on the Board of the Environmental Law Institute.
