Textpattern, known fondly as TxP, is a web site management software that the SHARE web site uses as its foundation. Being free open source software, TxP is ideal for a non-profit organization such as SHARE.
In an interview with SHARE, Alexandra discusses the organization of this fundraiser, TxP, her magazine, and other interests.
The Textpattern community consists of developers and users of TxP from around the world. Alexandra, a long time TxP user from Germany, organized an online fundraiser to buy Christmas presents for the TxP development and administrative team. This was to be the community’s show of appreciation for the time and dedication that this tireless team of volunteers devotes to TxP.
As the fundraising drive was coming to an end, Alexandra announced that any excess funds would be donated to SHARE’s Double Joy Farm project. The drive concluded with great success, raising funds beyond its initial goal. The community has generously donated the extra $200 funds to SHARE.
This global fundraising initiative is the first in SHARE’s history to
be organized and executed completely online. SHARE is now even prouder to be using TxP.
We are thankful to the TxP community for their generosity. We hope that their compassion inspires other netizens to help raise funds for social and charitable causes.
