
David Violante
Former Member, Board of Directors, SHARE
David joined SHARE in 1992, working with Dr. MacGuffie and several other paramedics to begin the development of prehospital care in Kenya, and in 1997, he joined the Board of SHARE as the EMS Coordinator. In addition to providing local training programs and supporting public health initiatives, he and his team worked with the Kenyan Ministry of Health and other NGOs to assist in the development of a national Emergency Medical Services System throughout Kenya. He stepped down from the Board of SHARE in 2012.
David is currently the Assistant Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the Arlington Fire District in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is also an adjunct at Marist College in the School of Communications and at Dutchess Community College in the School of Allied Health and Biological Sciences. He is very involved at the local, regional and state level in the development of emergency medical services through committee, education, policy, and public health work.
David received a bachelor degree from Marist College in Organizational Leadership and Communications and a Masters from Columbia University in Public Health, with a concentration in Executive Health Policy and Management.
David is the recipient of several New York State Senate and Assembly Citations, the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Leadership Award, the Red Cross Hometown Hero Award and the Columbia University Gorman Public Health Humanitarian Award.
