Today SHARE Africa joins with nonprofits throughout the world to celebrate   #GivingTuesdayNow.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
The President of Kenya ordered all learning institutions to be closed.  Each of our orphans are at home with their guardians or relatives and most importantly, they are safe.
Currently, we are in the process of providing food to the homes where the orphans are placed, which is tough under the national lock down type law and of course unmitigated price gauging. This creates a new challenge, but the staff is dedicated and working diligently so no one will starve.
Our Kenya Staff is being careful and limiting interaction with people and they have noted that life is very difficult as transportation/ gasoline procurement is now more difficult and have become very expensive.
As the current situation not only places additional strain on the operations in Kenya but also limits our fund-raising activities in the United States, any additional contributions you can make at this time will help to further support our orphans and their guardians.
We believe that generosity has the power to unite and heal communities in good times and bad. A global threat like COVID-19 touches every person on the planet, and it presents an opportunity to come together as a global community.
We could not do this without the support of our generous donors and friends. Please click the button below to donate any amount to help.
