Jeffrey B. Karasik, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P.

Medical Director, Board of Directors, SHARE

Dr. Jeffrey Karasik, SHARE’s medical director, is a pediatrician in Nanuet, New York.   He studied Biological Sciences with a concentration in Genetics and Development at Cornell University. After receiving his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, he completed his pediatric training at New York University and Bellevue Hospital Center.

Prior to joining Clarkstown Pediatrics in 1992, he completed a fellowship in Genetics and Dysmorphology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center.  Dr. Karasik earned his Master of Public Health degree from New York Medical College in May of 2011.

He has completed numerous trips to Mbita, the region SHARE serves in Kenya. He has overseen bereavement-counseling programs, courses in newborn care and resuscitation for medical personnel, and dental programs, as well as visits to the schools and homes of SHARE’s sponsored orphans.

Dr. Karasik enjoys cardio, reading historical fiction, listening to NPR, and spending his free time with his wife, Susan, a nutritionist who has accompanied him on numerous trips to the region served by SHARE in Kenya, and his 2 children and their Yorkie.
