SHARE Africa: Successful Jazz Happening

A Successful Jazz Happening!

On May 5th, 2024 at the Nyack Library, SHARE Africa hosted a solo piano performance by Bruce Barth, the world-renowned Jazz pianist.

The purpose of the Jazz Happening was to attract new local Rockland County residents and introduce them to the great work the SHARE organization undertakes. We wanted to inspire a new generation of sponsors and educate the Rockland residents on an organization that has existed for over 30 years in their backyards. This setting was cozy and unique, and those who attended truly appreciated its beauty.

The event was a success! We secured three new sponsors and, through generous contributions by those in attendance, we raised additional funds to support our programs. These funds will help with the many services we provide and assist with sponsoring orphans. In addition, we had 63 attending a fantastic evening of music and 16 emails added to our mailing list. We also invited ten local Jazz students from Nyack High School to enjoy the evening.

As a benefit, in addition to the fundraising and the great music, SHARE Africa upgraded its Website with a button for Donations, introducing a QR code that takes you straight to the Donate Page, and providing Venmo as a donation option. Please visit the Donations page if you would like to contribute to the SHARE causes.

This event was not the first of its kind, and we hope to establish a tradition with future concerts.

The Jazz Committee’s dedication made this event successful. Thank you to the Board Members and volunteers who made it a great success.
